Shine Bright for Justice

Creating a thriving Brevard County for every person.

BRIGHT is a 501(c)3 community organization made up of seven member congregations across Brevard County. While our congregations differ in terms of theology, race, socio-economic status, and location, we are united in our Biblical call to do justice. Unlike direct service agencies or mercy ministries, BRIGHT does not work to address the immediate needs of individuals. Instead, BRIGHT is a direct action organization made up of justice ministries that work together to address the root cause of community problems by using the power of organized people to hold public leaders accountable for fair and just policy.

Upcoming BRIGHT Events

Affordable Housing

There is a crisis of affordable housing across the country, and Brevard County is no exception. Over 33,000 families in our county are paying more than half of their income on housing. Therefore, BRIGHT is calling on our county leaders to fully fund our Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Increasing Reading Achievement

Learning to read is critical for the future of success of our children. However, 44% of Brevard County third graders are not reading at grade level. BRIGHT is pushing for our schools to make reading a priority and to use a proven curriculum backed by the Science of Reading.
